WebNov 11, 2011 · silver surfer. -. Nov 11, 2011. #1. Hi folks. Can someone clear this one up please. Exisitng TNS system to a domestic, max permissable Ze is 0.8 ohms. So if there was a fault immediately after the cutout head 230v/0.8 ohm a fault current of 287 amps would flow, if the PD was 100 amp BS88-2 it would take 100 seconds to operate (BRB … WebJun 29, 2010 · Reaction score. 1. Jun 27, 2010. #3. Thats GOOD for a TT. TT means you are using a Rod into the ground for your earth, Zs CAN be as much as 1666.66 ohms and still be ok for 30 m A RCD protected circuits, although a Max 200 ohms is recommended. TNS supply Maximum Zs values do NOT APPLY TO TT installations.

Know this one from experience if you have high ze readings and zs .First thing i would do is check the main earth connection from dno main fuse to board (relavant for a tncs system )Had all the sockets off checking connections twice!turned out although looked connected was nor tightened up properly at brass … WebDec 16, 2012 · I wouldn't design a circuit (TN-S) and relay solely on the rcd to meet disconnection times, ie wouldn't use the 1664 ohm Zs figure. Unless TT. Now if I was testing and the measured Zs was just over the max allowed and the circuit was rcd'd then I may just let it go, as long as understood why it was a bit to high.
WebOct 29, 2024 · Also for example :if the TT ze :6ohm in the summer house fuseboard ,then if i put 32a circuit braker for the ring circuit .then would r1+r2: 0.20ohm and i need to add ze:6 ohm = zs would be :6.20 !but in this case the braker will not trip in required times as the regulation show me!Becasue that braker need maximum zs:1.44 ohm! WebJun 2, 2024 · However, the maximum Zs which would result in the required disconnection times by a 30mA RCD in response to a negligible-impedance L-E fault (which is analogous to the requirement with RM CB/fuse fault protection) would traditionally have been 7,667Ω (at 230V), presumably now 7,283Ω (with 'Cmin'). Kind Regards, John. Edit: typo corrected.
